 General Information

MATC12 Ordinary Differential Equations 1 is an alternatively compulsory course for a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. It covers some solution methods for first order equations, linear equations of higher order
with constant and variable coefficients, power series solutions and Frobenius' method, linear systems with constant and variable coefficients, existence and uniqueness of solutions and an introduction to numerical methods for initial-value problems.

The teaching consists of lectures, seminars, computer exercises and a compulsory written assignment.

The module is assessed through a written and an oral examination.
