SGED05 The Contemporary Geography of African Development I (15 credits)

This is a course in development geography and equivalent to 15 ECTS. The course is offered at the undergraduate level as a single-subject course as well as a specialization course for the students of the BSc program in Development Studies. 

The courses will give an overview of the socio-economic diversity of Africa, putting special efforts on mapping the present situation and lifting up not only the concerns but also the potentials of the continent. This mapping will bring up natural, historical, social, political, and economic issues. However, this will be done including new approaches of presenting and representing the continent and its history, some of these approaches will be of postcolonial African origin.
